Home » Tooth Extraction
At Denvolve, we make every effort to ensure that we do everything within our abilities to save and restore a tooth. However extractions are unavoidable when teeth are badly broken down beyond repair or when advanced gum disease has irreversibly damaged the supporting structures.
Anaesthetics are used to numb the tooth and the surrounding gums. Prior to starting any treatment, we check to make sure that patients cannot feel a thing. The tooth is then gently loosened and removed. It is normal to experience pain as the numbness starts to wear off. After-care instructions and pain-relief advice is provided to all patients at the extraction appointment.
A wide range of options are available to replace the missing tooth which include implants, bridges, and dentures. These options are discussed in detail during dental examinations where we can help with choosing the right option for our patients.
